In Summer 2015, I worked as a research apprentice under the guidance of a graduate student (Animesh Garg) in the Berkeley Automation Sciences Lab. I contributed to the python scripts to convert DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) files into meshes for computing and printing implants of Radiotherapy Treatment Delivery Channels using Slicer 3D APIs. I also worked on generating the closed surface models of the loaded DICOM files by scripting essential elements of the Slicer 3D’s Contours Module.
